HCHC Sponsors Its Fourth Annual “Flavors of Hollywood”
on June 25th
June 25, 2005 Hollywood, California -- Hollywood
Community Housing Corporation (HCHC) held its fourth annual fundraiser
on June 25th from at the home of Jerry and Vicki Neuman in Hancock
Park. The event, “Flavors of Hollywood,” is a stand-up
dinner and cocktail party with live music. Tickets were $100 per
person which included dinner and spirits. This year, HCHC honored
California State Treasurer Phil Angelides and
Citibank for their unwavering commitment to bettering
our community. Stephen McAvoy, retired from City
National Bank and an HCHC founding Board member, was presented with
a Lifetime Achievement Award.
Founded in 1989, Hollywood Community Housing Corporation is a community-based
nonprofit organization committed to expanding the supply of affordable
housing and services for disadvantaged persons in Hollywood and
the surrounding community. Through its housing development activities
and community efforts, HCHC seeks to improve neighborhoods and the
quality of life for lower income households. HCHC has completed
556 units of housing at 17 developments for low-income families
and disabled households. An additional 103 units of housing are
in construction or predevelopment stages due to open in the next
two years. The money raised from the event supports HCHC in developing
additional affordable housing for low income families and disabled
individuals.
“Flavors of Hollywood” was catered by Wolfgang Puck
Catering and Events and featured talented entertainment such as
an Elvis Impersonator with a Thai twist, The Mamas Boys Blues Band,
and the Tina Latora Jazz Quartet. Our sponsors included Citibank,
Wolfgang Puck Catering and Events, Wells Fargo Bank, Village Properties,
Washington Mutual Bank, Bank of America, Alliant Capital, CIM Group,
Inc., Hollywood and Bronson Self Storage, The Enterprise Social
