Views at 270, HCHC's first mixed use development, has 56 affordable family apartments on a podium deck above a Walgreen's drug store. A cellular phone store is also located in the complex. No other affordable housing developer in Los Angeles has partnered with a for-profit corporation in quite this way. The commercial developer, Village Properties, purchased the land, and, in return for affordable housing space and parking, HCHC developed and supervised the construction of the buildings.
